Physiotherapists are trained to restore and maintain a patient’s mobility, function and well-being. Thorough assessments of the body (including but not limited to joints, muscle, nerves and tendons) allow physiotherapists to make accurate diagnoses of their patient’s conditions. Through a client-direct approach, the physiotherapist is then able to design a treatment plan that effectively restores optimal function, while minimizing or eliminating pain. These treatment plans may include supervised strengthening, balance training, postural re-education, stretches, dry needling (intramuscular stimulation), massage, and a home exercise program.
